Zahir mosque was built in 1912, making it the oldest and grandest mosque in Malaysia. This same mosque was also voted as the Top 10 most beautiful mosques in the world. The building design consists of five main parts that represent the Five Pillars of Islam. From afar, you might perceive that the dome is black, but if you view it up close, you will notice that it is actually dark ruby red in colour.
