Burpee World Record Attempt
Total Running Club are hosting a free online event on Saturday 16th October 2021, where Raj Ahmed will be attempting to complete 6,000 Burpees in 12 hours and set a new World Record!
The event will also be raising funds for Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, a global initiative that supports local charities, focusing on tackling inequality and promoting greater economic inclusion for disadvantaged young people from low-income households.
Jeff Ross, Total Running Club’s General Manager enthused, “We’re all really excited about this quirky event, which will be a massive physical test for Raj. It’ll be fun for supporters and I’m very happy that we’ll be able to raise funds for a local charity concurrently. We’ve organised a packed schedule, including competitions, prizes and sponsor features. One of our competitions will allow viewers to be added to the live event stream, and to take part in a 60s Burpee challenge! And throughout ‘The Main Show’ (08.45 – 10.00), we’ll be watching Raj on a split screen as he steadily works his way through his Burpees.”
Malaysia-based athlete Raj Ahmed is a burpee expert and he’s been training hard for months in order to prepare for this endurance challenge. Raj stated “Mental strength is going to be just as important as physical strength for this record attempt, and I’m therefore putting out a plea for as many people as possible to tune in and cheer me on please! I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 16th October at 08.45 Malaysian time, thank you.”
