Description

Batu Hampar (The Bedrock) is a rock where located in the middle of the entrance of Bukit Malawati (Malawati Hill). It is placed on an open area with three descending stpes in the direction of the sunrise. Batu Hampar is a very solid piece of stone measuring 5x5x1 feet squre and supported by a heap of earth and sand as its base.

The legend of Batu Hampar has two tales which one is belief that Batu Hampar was used to behead traitors as the blood will be sprayed around Malawati as a lesson to the people not to commit adultery while another claims that then Sultan of Selangor, HRH Sultan Abdul Samad sat on it to watch the sunset over the kingdom.
